Service Description

Saturday 31st August 10:30 - 12:30 The Avon Centre - Forest Area The session will provide the opportunity for you to connect with your body and mind through guided invitations that awaken your individual senses. The wooded area at The Avon Centre is a beautiful, safe surrounding for you to consider how you are feeling and how you are connected to nature. Many people feel forest therapy helps to reduce stress and anxiety and promotes their on-going well-being. See my Forest Therapy page for more info on the research into the benefits of Forest Therapy. https://www.charlottehawke.co.uk/foresttherapy The Creative workshop that follows will use your newly awakened senses to experience how art can help you build a sense of ‘flow’ that has been proven to enhance mental well-being. We will canvas the forest floor for tools we can draw with, twigs, leaves, moss....anything to make an interesting mark! You will then have the opportunity to try capturing the forest landscape using pencil, graphite and inks. We may even create our own inks from mud from the forest floor! The session will end with a huge collaborative drawing, and then a nice cuppa (by the fire, if we need warmth!) These workshops are could help those who are experiencing anxiety or low mood and are interested in building a toolkit to help improve your own well-being. Sessions are 2 hours long, all materials will be provided and sessions finish with a hot drink and biscuits, a time to reflect. The workshop is set within the beautiful woodland at The Avon Centre, Bristol. There is a shelter if the weather is awful, but we will be embracing the elements as part of our experience!
