Forest Therapy & Drawing Trees 22/09/24
A mindful creative session, to awaken your senses and connect with nature.
Service Description
Forest therapy invitations will invite you to connect with your senses and consider how you are feeling within your body and mind. These sessions have been proven to improve physical and mental health, but they also allow you to tap into an on-going connection to nature that can be useful in times of stress or ill health in the future. The Creative workshop that follows will use your newly awakened senses to experience how art can help you build a sense of ‘flow’ that has been proven to enhance mental well-being. You’ll have a lovely piece of art to take home, and will build creative ideas of what you can do in your own time! This session will focus on mindful drawing, how to capture the light and dark of the trees in the woodland. We will use pencil, graphite and blending tools to create beautiful tonal drawings of the trees. These workshops could be useful for anyone who is experiencing anxiety, or low mood, and is interested in building a toolkit to help improve their own well-being. Sessions are 2 hours long, all materials will be provided and sessions finish with a hot drink and biscuits, a time to reflect. The workshop is set within the beautiful woodland at The Avon Centre, Bristol. There is a shelter if the weather is awful, but we will be embracing the elements as part of our experience! Please wear good footwear and dress accordingly for the weather - bring waterproofs, in case it rains. 10:30-12:30 (2hrs) How to find The Avon Centre: Car: Use address below.
